Barcelona ready to replace Luis Suarez with Marcus Rashford

Barcelona are in the market for a new attacker after losing faith in Luis Suarez and have placed Marcus Rashford on a three-man shortlist to replace him.

Suarez has scored 18 goals in 27 La Liga games for the Catalan giants this season but has failed to strike in six appearances in the Champions League.

The former Liverpool striker is scoring less consistently than his early days at the Camp Nou and Barcelona are now preparing to replace the 32-year-old this summer.

Rashford has emerged as one of the top targets to replace him, according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo.

Barcelona chiefs believe the 21-year-old has the technical ability required to turn out for the reigning Spanish champions, although they accept a deal will be ‘complicated’ because United aren’t typically in the business of seling their best players.

However, the England international’s current deal does expire at the end of next season, which may give Barcelona some hope of knocking the price down, although there is an option to extend it for a year beyond that.

Rashford is joined on the three-man shortlist by World Cup winner Antoine Griezmann and in-form Serbian striker Luka Jovic, who is a target for Chelsea.
