Chelsea plan to block Callum Hudson-Odoi from signing any deal with Manchester United or Bayern Munich this summer
Chelsea will refuse to sell Callum Hudson-Odoi this summer as Manchester United prepare to submit an offer for the 18-year-old, according to reports.
Hudson-Odoi is yet to start a Premier League game this season, and it’s understood that he has been unhappy with his lack of opportunities under Maurizio Sarri.
The winger will have just a year remaining on his contract with Chelsea at the end of the season and he could leave Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2020 for a small compensation fee if he refuses to sign a new deal.
According to The Times, Chelsea have told Hudson-Odoi that he will not be sold this summer, even if he does not commit to a new contract. Meanwhile, both United and Bayern Munich are preparing summer offers for the 18-year-old.
Bayern had four bids, including one worth £35m, rejected by Chelsea during the January transfer window.
Hudson-Odoi even handed in a transfer request to Chelsea in order to force through his move to the Bundesliga champions.
Chelsea have reportedly offered Hudson-Odoi a five-year contract worth £80,000 week but the club are not hopeful that a new deal will be signed.
Hudson-Odoi this summer, it would cost them a significant amount as they would only receive a compensation fee which is determined the Professional Football Compensation Committee. Last year, Liverpool and Chelsea finally reached an agreement over the compensation fee for Dominic Solanke’s move to Anfield.
Chelsea had demanded a £10m fee but Liverpool were able to reach a compromise with the west London club having valued the striker at £3m.
