Gary Neville was fuming with the discussion between Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba over who would take the penalty against Wolves on Monday night.
Manchester United drew 1-1 with Wolves, but Pogba had the chance to snatch all three points after winning a penalty in the second half.
Despite the fact Rashford took United’s penalty last week in the win over Chelsea, Pogba was given the responsibility against Wolves.
Pogba missed the spot-kick and Neville raged in the Sky Sports studio and branded the debate between Rashford and Pogba before the penalty was taken ’embarrassing’.
He told Sky Sports: ‘Before he actually took the penalty I was fuming. But, we’ve looked back at the penalty that Rashford took last week and he had a long chat with Pogba. ‘I’m not sure if Rashford took the penalty off Rashford last week.
Why is there a debate? They should never be a debate. ‘Rashford took it last week, take the penalty. There wasn’t a leader out there. They couldn’t make a decision.
‘Initially I was fuming with Pogba, typically selfish.
But it’s weird and something’s not right.’ He added: ‘They should decide in the dressing room who is the penalty taker, it’s embarrassing.’
Rashford spoke only briefly to Pogba about who would take it and was happy when the midfielder appeared to tell him he wanted to take it.
