The battle for Fiorentina’s Federico Chiesa is likely to be one of the transfer sagas of the summer as Liverpool join a host of teams chasing his signature.
The 21-year-old has made a huge impact in Florence, already captaining the side after breaking into the team in 2016 and picking up 11 caps for Italy in the process.
The winger has six goals in 28 Serie A appearances this campaign, including his strike in Fiorentina’s last outing, away to Cagliari on 15 March.
His performances over the last three seasons have attracted interest from the likes of Chelsea, Man Utd, Man City, Tottenham, AC Milan, Juventus and now Liverpool, according to TeamTalk.
It has been previously reported that Chiesa is keen on a move to Chelsea, with Maurizio Sarri a big fan of his work.
However, Chelsea are now under a transfer ban so it looks like that move is out of the window, allowing other sides to try and strike a deal.
The exciting young star is thought to be valued at between £70m and £90m and Fiorentina are bracing themselves for bids from England and Italy.
Liverpool’s interest had reportedly cooled but it has been reignited and they are expected to be a big part of the battle to sign him over the summer. Bayern Munich are another team mentioned in the Chiesa conversation, with the Germans also willing to pay big for the Italian.
